Right on Carson Street, just so happens right in the stretch of South Side works. Surely you all have noticed the one lane traffic where new storm sewers and sanitary sewers, and water lines are being installed...Hmmmmm....Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1588280325775325323.post-59997993715548352072009-05-28T11:18:31.008-04:002009-05-28T11:18:31.008-04:00Not another amphitheater! Not another amphitheater!illyriashttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07729280972013286906noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1588280325775325323.post-16668767746771426962009-05-28T10:53:55.325-04:002009-05-28T10:53:55.325-04:00The City is not getting a $100 million dollar chec...The City is not getting a $100 million dollar check that it can use however it pleases. It needs to apply for the various provisions in the Stimulus Package.

Bridges falling down are more important than getting Domestic Violence prevention money, but there is $200 million available in the Stimulus Bill for Domestic Violence. Either we try to get it or we don't. Same with agriculture funding. Same with economic development money, which is what the URA applications sound like.

Also a water bar sounds pretty sweet.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1588280325775325323.post-24433219700457857742009-05-28T10:50:47.630-04:002009-05-28T10:50:47.630-04:00My rant on Bill wanting bigger government and pass...My rant on Bill wanting bigger government and passing the buck.

http://www.pittsburghlive.com/x/pittsburghtrib/s_626959.htmlMark Rauterkushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17157914569686528007noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1588280325775325323.post-50725953420301537452009-05-28T10:42:19.641-04:002009-05-28T10:42:19.641-04:00I guess one part of the mechanics I don't understa...I guess one part of the mechanics I don't understand is, if Pittsburgh passes on one project, does that mean we will get to reapply the funds elsewhere or do they go away forever?

Related perhaps, it says the URA "is requesting" ... does that mean there is anything to turn down yet and thereby (shiver) "get nothing"? Or is the panel an effort to encourage the City to make more worthwhile requests which can just as easily be fulfilled instead?

Would like to see the URA's complete list of requests. I don't know if Peduto was highlighting or cherry-picking, but even to the extent that private economic development is a legit use for this money, that corridor on the East End and the SouthSide Works strike me as the very areas of the City which require resources LEAST. My friends in District 2 would be livid.Bram Reichbaumhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05620172942925293407noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1588280325775325323.post-56776953438868630052009-05-28T09:42:43.926-04:002009-05-28T09:42:43.926-04:00$6 million dollars is too much to accept to stimul...$6 million dollars is too much to accept to stimulate local development, we're going to turn it down and get nothing.

Good job SOARING.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
