A Quick Note Before Sunday Talksies

First of all, P-G, thank you for publishing my letter.

Second, what a pleasant surprise to appear in tandem with Ed Heath!

Third, although I would have loved it if you had edited my poor grammar in other instances (says/said: verb tenses make me throw up my hands in exasperation), I haz a sad because you edited my first sentence to read, "Yes it can."

Yes we can. We! It was an Obama reference!

Yes we can end patronage; yes we can to justice and equality, to opportunity and prosperity, etc.

KTHXBAI!

  2. I too was happy to see both our letters in the same section on the same day. I too had a moment of bad grammer "While the jointly proposed campaign finance legislation does have a weak "millionaire's" clause to account for one special circumstance" (one's special circumstance).

I now wish I had either taken more time or had waited on my letter. I later read Bob Mayo's blog post on the Onorato/Ravenstahl proposal. It referenced the reasons Ravenstahl had given when he vetoed campaign finance reform the last time, and I wish I had. The business about Mayor's needing higher levels of finance, and the business about unions needing to be able to give more (he should know, considering how much money Ravenstahl has taken from business), and I forget what all else. I wish I had made the whole case.

  3. Good job on getting your letter published!

"Where was the letter from Matt? Does he not care about the community?"

I do care about the community. That is a big obvious. I am working on a letter to the editor on a different matter.

  4. But you did not care enough to write a letter.

And what about the HACP. You just let it drop. You are all talk no action.

There are a lot of issues that I care about but that doesn't mean I am going to write a letter to the editor about each one of them. You are only allowed to be published once every 30 days I believe. I'll write letters about what I wanna write about just like I have done in the past.

I love how you have to try and call me out on someone elses blog on a blog post that had nothing to do with me or made any mention about me.

It's kind of ridiculous that 1-3 people try to bring me into every subject that is brought up in the blogosphere. I guess you can't make everyone happy. I really don't know what the problem is.

This is the last off-topic comment I will leave on this post because this will lead to another 45+ comment post that is completely irrelevant and useless like they always have been in the past.

And about HACP. I did what I was supposed to. Griffin showed Ravenstahl the documents and Ravenstahl promised action. I guess they either didn't care or just didn't want to start controversy at an authority that could give the Mayors office a black eye.

That's that & thanks for following me around from blog to blog.

  6. This is too funny.

"I did what I was supposed to"
    It was very noble.

Griffin showed Ravenstahl the documents and Ravenstahl promised action. I guess they either didn't care or just didn't want to start controversy at an authority that could give the Mayors office a black eye."

Ok, so once Luke says "hands off" you just let it drop for fear of offending the big guy. So where are you Mr. Community activist? Just hiding in the shadows watching the world go by? Waiting for that big call from the committee that let you spring into action and be the local hero?

And I will bring relevant topics into anywhere I choose. Nobody can comment on your blog beacuse it's so heavily censored.

I did not see a person here replying to you. I did not see any disparaging comments about you on this post. Your comment about following you around is ludicrous. You have injected yourself into everything and everywhere online in Pittsburgh. In fact you have probably commented on every blog in Pittsburgh. So I can't visit also? Following you around? Weren't you peering in someone's windows recently? I think you have a really high opinion of yourself.

So in the end, don't get mad at me for now calling you out for the stuff you said you would do but did not do. And don't get mad a me for pointing out that you cooled off once you figured out that Luke disagreed.

How does that make you feel anyways? Why will the Mayor's office not help?

    Signed,
    The community activist caller outer

  7. Yeay to Bram and Ed!
Boo to the oblique MH caller-outers: why dontcha get your own blog to address your issues and cease your babble on this one?

A good part of my football festivities was spent discussing Lawrenceville development with an other Butler St. small business owner: Acute skepticism indeed!

  8. "Waiting for that big call from the committee that let you spring into action and be the local hero?"

I don't go by what the committee says. I am my own person. If Theresa Smith wouldn't have won the endorsement like she did I would have still worked for her campaign.

You would be surprised how little you know about the committee and the way it works. No one calls you and tells you who to vote for. You make it seem like there are some strong arm tactics involved.

"Weren't you peering in someone's windows recently?"

    What? Your nuts.

  11. InAg - I hope you cleared that meeting with the properly authorized community groups beforehand. I'd hate to see you wind up in a re-education facility. :-)

    Really? You would be surprised.

  18. I said a while ago, totally off topic and useless posts slamming Matt H will get deleted. Not totally off topic and/or interesting comments will remain at my discretion. Just the way it's gonna have to be on occasion.

  20. Oh please. You were just making fun of him randomly for not being a "big boy". And it was thoroughly a boring commercial!! What the heck is the point of that? Stupid, irrelevant and off topic. Sign your name to a post and maybe we'll consider that garbage.
