Chris Hixon is leaving us soon, for a while at least. He's starting to organize his thoughts. The Comet used to link to him now and again, and I wouldn't want anyone to think I forgot about him after the the Club Pittsburgh thing died down. I feel like I learned a lot about gay politics and gay life in general through his blog, and in terms of "winning YouTube" he is on the medal platform. Be surfing over there and get it while it's hot.
Hey, I'm compelled to confess that I contributed towards the atmosphere of aggression at Lefty's site, even if I didn't scoot past PG-13. Furthermore, I don't have any particular objection to moderated comments on sites that wish to do so, unless it is applied in a manipulative fashion. Finally, for all of Matt H's foibles, I don't think he deserves to be lumped into that category. So let's live and let live.
One might get the opinion, after reading Lefty's site, that the goal is to undermine another blogger (Bram)
This appears to be an insidious little game played when people don't like the opinions that they read or the truth. I guess the game has a right to be played, being fair to all sides. Just so everyone realizes that it is a game. Everyone has a right to express their opinions, one would only hope the intent is provide something of substance. Lefty's site does not provide much of that.

What you might believe are weaknesses and failings of character people would find to be strong points. It's all in how you view me. Some people like me some people don't. Not a big deal to me. I'm not here in the blogging community to be loved by all. More and more people come up to me everyday and say how much they love the blog. More lovers than haters.
That school board seat is up this spring. I didn't run for it because of a future job that is in the works that will not allow me to serve in that capacity.
What's funny is you think there is all of this stuff when I know there isn't anything.
If I would have ran I would have won. If I would have ran for the endorsement yesterday I would have won. My School Board rep didn't even show up yesterday at endorsement day.

Way cool!
ReplyDeleteI am left awestruck. I think you have won Youtube!
ReplyDeleteIs it kitsch? Is it talent? Both, surely. Well played.

ReplyDeleteAnd as long as I'm giving shout-outs, Lady Elaine is blowing my gourd right now.
ReplyDeleteLefty is moderating comments now. He made some comment about screening vulgarity - none existed. Moderated comments, just like his buddy Matt H. LOL!

ReplyDeleteAre you scared of Matt? Is he blackmailing you?
ReplyDeleteNo, and no.

Perhaps Bram could suck up to Lefty next? Matt and Lefty might be the same person.
ReplyDeleteWhat you don't know about those characters would surprise you.
"Moderated comments, just like his buddy Matt H. LOL!"
ReplyDeleteYea. I do moderated comments. That way I can see comments before they are posted on the blog when I am not in front of a computer.
What's funny is that I saw this post and saw that there was 10 comments and I figured that someone had brought me up in the string of the comments.

ReplyDeleteNot at all. Why would I create a second blog? What sense does that make?
"What you don't know about those characters would surprise you."
ReplyDeleteCare to write about it?
I doubt anything will materialize because there isn't anything.
Matt, Most people are saving that stuff for when you try and run for school board.
ReplyDeleteOhhhh ok.

If Matt would have run for school board, I might have endorsed him. I'd have asked him some tough questions though.
ReplyDeleteMatt-
ReplyDeleteIs your future job is in city government?
Really Bram? That's a bold move.
ReplyDeleteAsk all the questions you want. Are the answers going to be truthful?
"Is your future job is in city government?"
ReplyDeleteDepends.
You better hope it is. Otherwise, you are likely to get fired.
ReplyDelete(Insert joke about worthless and unqualified political appointees)
I can't wait to see what job you get. Lap dog?
why would I get fired?
ReplyDeleteWhy would you stay gainfully employed?
ReplyDeleteAt least you will have more time to blog.
the HOAGIE blog rocks!
