The link she provides regarding Bryan Adams is more than a little relevant if your name is Lucas Piatt, and/or if you enjoy reflecting on Andrew Carnegie and Richard King Mellon. It is a very Pittsburgh way to resolve these tensions. Don't we have a County budget shortfall and problems keeping Kane Regional health centers open?
Wait, really? And it's not online? So I have to either buy a copy, or "join"? How [grits teeth] how totally fair.
Finally:
How is this for a slogan for G-20 leaders: "Get to work, losers!"

"Get to work, losers" is too broadly applicable. How about: "Please don't trash the East End."
ReplyDeleteLet me see if I understand....Anyone associated with G-20 representatives, are losers.
ReplyDeleteAnd, small time Burgher Bloggers are in position to render "qualified" opinion...
Maybe they will provide receipts for the ties that they are wearing or they sound systems in their jets...
Sharpen the graphite, boys...
I bet if we include 'in-flight Beer Nuts', we might make the $250 threshold of intolerance..
'G-20, love us for our open-mindedness'
PITTSBURGH
Another Slogan for World Leaders visiting Pittsburgh:
ReplyDelete'Don't buy Yoders Macaroni Salad in 3Lb tubs @ Kmart'
Not a Slogan, but a Public Service Anouncment...
Doing my part...for G-20!
No offense, but you just read two Tweeters.
ReplyDeleteThe slogan should be, "Pittsburgh--Millions of windows for anarchy."
Elaine - I read plenty of Twitter users, it's just been a long time since I'd given PittGirl proper dues. This blog was built around her. There's a Pirates-themed Twitter post coming up eventually.
ReplyDeleteMH - That's true, the slogan needs to apply to the protesters, dissidents, and loyal opposition as much as the economic overlords. How about, "PITTSBURGH: A GOOD PLACE TO INNOVATE. WHY DON'T YOU GET STARTED." Not terribly catchy.
"PITTSBURGH: INNOVATION LIVES HERE."
"PITTSBURGH: MOVING FORWARD SINCE 1758."
"PITTSBURGH: A GOOD PLACE TO INVEST, IN OUR OPINION."
"PITTSBURGH: HEY!"
Dont you mean "PITTSBURGH: HEY, N'at?!"
ReplyDeletePittsburgh: Yes, we're sick of the phrase 'redd up' also.
ReplyDeletePitssburgh: the Future is Forged Here
ReplyDeletePittsburgh: Yinz are welcome to visit, please redd up the mess you made before you leave.
